I was drawn to Tim’s work through a synchronistic, middle of the night internet wandering where I found many of his books and then visited his website.  

The residential course was held at Abbey House –attached to the grounds of the beautiful Glastonbury Abbey ruins.

What a magical place to experience “The Mystery”. My room, on the first floor of Abbey House, looked out over the garden and straight onto the site of the ancient Abbey.

It is said that 2000 years ago Joseph of Arimathea (Christ’s uncle) is supposed to have brought the young Jesus here to the ancient and magical Avalon.  On Joseph’s second visit, after Christ’s death, he built the first Christian church, at Glastonbury Abbey, appointing twelve Christian hermits to look after it. St Patrick and St David are said to have come here too and later stil King Arthur who is reputedly buried here.  

Legend proclaims that after Arthur’s death, a powerful spirit haunted the ruins of the Abbey, appearing as a black-armoured knight with red glowing eyes and a burning desire to eradicate all records of the ancient Arthurian legends, which is why, it is said, that those seeking to discover the truth, find so few facts available.  

As residents of Abbey House, we were allowed to visit the ruins through the back gate and given the secret code to the padlock. I was awake around sunrise on our first morning and made my way across the garden to the Abbey ruins to explore alone. I had the most magical and wondrous time for an hour and a half with the Abbey all to myself, walking through the ruins, visiting the Lady Chapel, The High Altar, the Abbots kitchen, the herb garden , meditating and practising my Tai Chi. All the while the birds were beginning their early morning song and the light was beautiful.  

Truly, a once in a lifetime experience – full of grace.

I loved the many and varied herbs to be found in the herb garden – many of which we do not often see in Australia. Borage – pictured here- is one of my favorites.

Borage is reputedly the herb for “courage” and comes from the Celtic word ‘barrach’ meaning “a man of courage”. It is said to f bring courage and optimism, relieve the heavy-hearted, ease the broken-hearted and brighten the dis-heartened. Very uplifting.  Borage – the beautiful star full of courage

Our weekend course had begun the night before with an introduction by Tim Freke and the group introducing themselves, followed by a gentle exercise to begin our process. On the Saturday morning, , refreshed after my time in the Abbey, we began our day together as a group. A day that would prove to be one of deep awakening and  insight for all.  

Tim calls himself a “Stand-up Philosopher and has spent years exploring and learning from the ancient Mystery School traditions and he, and his colleague Peter Gandy, have written several books about early Christianity, the Gnostics, and the Goddess.  

However it is his recent direction that inspired me to travel to be part of the Mystery Experience weekend. Tim’s Mystery Experience retreats offer an opportunity to participate in a 21^st century expression of the Ancient Mystery traditions, which is an evolution of the perennial Gnostic wisdom into a radically new and immediately accessible form.  

Tim is pioneering a simple new way to experience a deep spiritual awakening, which fully embraces our everyday humanity. For me, it was about being conscious of being conscious and maintaining my sense of being part of the Divine and connection to “The Oneness” while still operating on a very grounded and human level.  

Through the meditations, one-on -one and group exercises Tim lead us along a simple path to discovering our essential nature and using this to fully engage in life. His approach was one that really resonated with my soul – “Head in Heaven, Feet on earth”. For it is of no use to anyone if you are so spiritual that you are no earthly good! The challenge for us all in these times is to integrate our spiritual beliefs and practices into our everyday lives and interactions with others.  

Tim’s book, “How Long is Now?” is a great introduction to his work and a wonderful example of how to be spiritually awake in the real world.  

In this book, Tim offers astonishing insights and powerful wake-up techniques, clarifies common misunderstandings about what it is to be “spiritual,” and presents an extraordinary new understanding of death and immortality.  

Throughout the weekend the group energies were beautiful and we all experienced profound insights and deep connections to the bliss of what Tim describes as “Big Love”.

As a presenter and a course leader, Tim offers so much on many levels. His intellect and sense of humour shine through. He is a delight to listen to and he holds the attention of the group through personal anecdotes and amusing stories of his own life and experiences. Tim is also very generous with his own personal energy and spends a lot of the time in between sessions speaking  with individuals in the group. 

My experience of the Mystery weekend led me to discuss with the gorgeous Mary (his workshop facilitator and website communicator) the possibility of getting Tim and his family to come to Australia. I know that there are many of you here who would seize the opportunity to experience that connection to the “All That Is” and to come to a deeper understanding of your true essence.

My last post left off with my arrival at Glastonbury, where I was to spend four days.    

The following morning, after my previous evenings sunset climb up the Tor, I made my way to the Chalice Well Gardens.

Chalice Well is one of Britain’s most ancient wells, nestling in the Vale of Avalon between the famous Glastonbury Tor and Chalice Hill.    

Surrounded by beautiful gardens and orchards it is a living sanctuary in which you can experience the quiet healing of this sacred place. For over two thousand years this has been a place where people have gathered to drink the waters and find solace, peace and inspiration

The Chalice Well is among the best known and most loved holy wells in Britain. Many legends are attributed to its chalybeate waters, which flow ceaselessly at a steady rate and temperature that never varies. Not least among these is that they represent the blood of Christ miraculously springing forth from the ground when Joseph of Arimathea buried or washed the cup used at the Last Supper. For others the waters are acknowledged as the essence of life, the gift from Mother Earth to sustain its living forms and so a continuous spring like Chalice Well is a direct expression of an unbounded life force.

For me, being at the well head,  drinking  the water and absorbing  the atmosphere in the gardens can be a truly inspirational experience. A deep sense of peace fills my being and keeps me centred and calm. and many of those who vist find this ot be true for them too. This is a place of quiet inspiration and contemplation, where voices are hushed and the bird song is heard.                                                   

I felt blessed as the day was just glorious – warm and sunny and the light was so clear.     

I spent the best part of the morning in the gardens – meditating, cleansing my feet in the special bathing pool, drinking the water and filling my bottles with the Chalice Well Water to drink over the coming few days at the workshop I would be attending.

Each time I visit the Chalice Well Gardens  magic happens and I meet, or rather re-encounter, a soul sister or friends from times gone by,. This time during my visit I began talking to the most delightful and beautiful girl who had a very fine and ethereal energy to her. She was visiting from Sweden and as we spoke we really connected and realised how lovely it was to meet a “sister” in such a sacred place as the Chalice Well. We spent some time talking of her work and mine, and I was given many messages from Spirit for her about her work with pearls.  I left her with a hug and gave her a gift of a crystal which I had brought from Australia.  Such a wonderful encounter, full of grace.  The day after writing this, I received a package from Sweden – how delightful it was to be sent a card and thankyou gift from Anneli. She had sent me, as promised, some of her precious pearls which I have been using to imbue my filtered water. The water tastes so sweet and has a high vibratory frequency to it. The time I spent at the Chalice Well Gardens went by so quickly that I knew I would have to return before I left Glastonbury after the weekend – and indeed I did.

Following the Tim Freke Magical Mystery Experience (which I will tell you about in my next post) I returned once more to the Chalice Well Gardens and this time I had the place almost to myself. I spent a long time alone by the well itself (quite a treat in high season) and as I prepared to leave another delightful lady graciously took this photo of me.

 I filled my bottles at the Lion Head fountain and drank my fill again of the iron –rich water. This water was to bring home to Australia to use in ceremonies and my work with clients and students. Of course these days one is not permitted to carry liquids (over 100 mls) onto an aircraft so my Chalice Well Water was going to have to go in my suitcase.  4 bottles of it weighs about 3 kilos so several parcels of my clothes had to be posted home – such is my dedication. Needless to say, I use the Chalice Well water sparingly on high days and for special occasions in Australia as it is such a long way to go for it.

Before I left Glastonbury I once more climbed the Tor and spent some time sitting in the grass reflecting on the previous few days and absorbing the glorious views of the countryside from my vantage point. I love to imprint the vision of the green into my retinas so I can reconnect into the powerful energy when I return to Australia.

   

 

 

 

      

  As is my custom, I left  crystals brought from Australia at the Chalice Well Gardens and atop the Tor and indeed throughout Cornwall – where I was now headed.

Well what a journey!  It has been a true pilgrimage that I have undertaken to the UK these past few weeks for the better part of July. I have so much to tell you all that it will take at least a couple of months of missives to cover the tales of the extraordinary energies, places and people I encountered. So rather than cram all the photos and anecdotes into one post I shall spread them out over several.

When I arrived in the UK in the first week of July I drove west to the gorgeous Regency city of Bath and explored the city and surrounds. What a truly delightful and elegant city, with surprises around every corner.

Apart from the usual tourist haunts of the great Bath Cathedral, Pump Room and The Roman Baths and the famous Jane Austen Centre, the canals of Bath and the locks system were so interesting.

From Bath I journeyed to my spiritual home – Glastonbury, via the Nine Barrows (ancient burial mounds) in Priddy,Somerset; through the Cheddar Gorge

 For people in ancient times, the caves at Wookey Hole were a safe and even comfortable place to live. They were dry, easy to defend, warm in winter and cool in summer.

Legend has it that during the Dark Ages an old woman who kept a dog and some goats lived alone in the caves. Everything that went wrong in the village was blamed on her.

The local people believed she was a witch who cast spells and caused misfortunes. Eventually, the people sought the help of the Abbot at nearby Glastonbury Abbey.

He sent a monk called Father Bernard to exorcise the witch’s spirit. He entered the cave armed only with a bible and a candle. In the faint light Father Bernard saw the witch stooping over her cooking pot.

He tried to talk to her, but, screaming curses and casting spells, the witch fled deeper into the cave down a narrow passageway called Hell’s Ladder. The brave monk followed her and they met again in the shadowy depths of an inner cavern – her  Kitchen.

Quickly, Father Bernard scooped up a handful of water from the river, blessed it and threw it over the witch.

She turned instantly to stone and her frozen figure remains in this cavern – known as The Witch’s Kitchen – to this day.

The Celtic peoples have long lived in this area and they worshipped the earth and nature and aligned themselves to the seasons and the Goddesss energy.  To them the cave symbolised the womb and the protective darkness of the feminine essence.

Before I travelled the last few miles to Glastonbury, I stopped briefly in the small city of Wells. Wher I once again visited the cathedral and also stpopped in at the Wells Museum to see the bones found in Wookey Hole caves – that may or may not have belonged to the Witch! ( and her goat!)

 Wells , although a very small market town in reality, qualifies as a city as it has a magnificent Cathedral ..The wells,- actually sacred springs , which gave the city its name, are the corner stone of the development of this area from prehistoric times. These natural springs can be found in the garden of the Bishop’s Palace, including the holy well of St. Andrew, which is just to the east of the Camery Garden on the south side of the present cathedral.

Finally, I arrived at my destination for the weekend- Glastonbury – the ancient Isle of Avalon – home to the Lady of  Lake and the Heart Chakra of the planet.

I lost no time in taking a brisk walk to the top of the Tor to enjoy the summer evening light and admire the view while absorbing the energy.

Well, it is  almost time for my journey/pilgrimage to begin- but before I take flight I wanted to share with you a couple of wondrous experiences I have had of late.

Recently my dear friend and colleague , Jana, has opened a beautiful Goddess healing and therapy centre called Anahata Therapies in the heart of Mosman, Sydney. 

Anahata is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning “Heart Chakra” and the Goddess gals at Anahata embody this energy so well in their work with body therapies , facials, hot stone massage as well as fertility counselling and Ayurvedic healing.

To launch them on their journey they held a special Puja – a Hindu Blessing- on a spiritually significant day and I was honoured and delighted to be a participant in this deeply moving ceremony.           A Puja is a ceremony of gratitude or a ritual performed as an offering to various deities, distinguished persons, or special guests. It is done on a variety of occasions and settings, from daily puja done in the home, to temple ceremonies and large festivals, or in the case of Anahata Therapies, to begin a new venture.

During the ceremony I was so aware of the  presence of the Ascended Masters Kuthumi, Lao Tsu and Lady Master Kwan Yin  as well as  many of the Gods and Goddesses of the Hindu tradition.

Flowers, fruit , water, incense , bells, lamps and many other holy items were used by the Pujari ( temple priests) who conducted the ceremony.  They chanted mantras and holy words of blessing and  prayer for the success of the new business.                                         

 For me , this was a deep and meaningful ceremony which enabled all those present to feel that  they too were giving their energy and blessing to the future of Anahata.

Following on from the wonderful start with the Puja, I also attended a Traditional Home-Style Indian Cooking school at Anahata. Our amazing teacher Madhu who runs the Ma School of Indian Cooking lead our group through many delicious dished based on Ayurvedic principles and the recipes handed down to her from her mother and grandmother in India. We learned many new recipes and how to combine and mix the spices that make Indian cuisine taste so good.

So many things have changed in the world over the past month – it seems these days it is more and more difficult to keep apace with not only world affairs but in our own personal lives.

Yet again I have had a busy month with clients and I begin June with some inspiring new ideas for courses and developments that I will be able release at the end of July and into August.

In the meantime, I am planning a  spiritual journey  in July which will see me head off to the UK again. During this trip I am attending a seminar/retreat and revisiting old haunts and favourite spiritual places such as Glastonbury, Tintagel, Avebury and Stonehenge. I do like to get my “fix” of the energy in these wonderful places each time I go to England, however I do always try to visit places I have not previously seen.

This year will visit  the Quoits and the standing stones in Cornwall and I will also spend some time at St Michaels Mount (the starting point of what is known as the “Michael” or “Dragon Line”). My journey will also see me back in London where I am will be caching up with clients and colleagues. 

It occurred to me that I had not previously posted photos from my journey to Angkor Wat in Cambodia late last year. Cambodia is such an interesting (and poor) country but the people are beautiful and gentle in spite of the horrific past that they have endured. As we travelled through the country we could see the way the people lived and their preferred mode of transport – the motorbike! They were everywhere and used to transport every conceivable item and personages!

The highlight for me was stepping across the threshold of the temple at Angkor Wat with our local tour guide and feeling the energy shift dramatically. It was like breaking through a membrane as we crossed the line between the outer temple and the inner sanctuary.

This now Buddhist Temple was originally a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu and built for the king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city. The temple is an outstanding example of the classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia and its outline appears on its natinal flag.

The photos of the carved goddesses are actually known as as apsaraor vidhyadari. The Apsara are heavenly maidens who were sent by Indra the  Lord of Heaven) from svarga (the  heavenly worlds located on and above Mt Meru) to seduce the meditating chaste monks and holy men.

I do recommend the journey to the temples of Angkor if you have the opporutnity, as they are, for me, one of the great spiritual sites I have visited.

Mother and Daughter

Hello and Welcome,

Here in Australia we are about to celebrate Mothers’ Day. Obviously this is a day set aside to honour  mothers and their selfless efforts to nurture and support  their children ( of all ages) .

For all women this is a day that can be one of very mixed emotions.  The mothers  amongst us have an opportunity to give thanks for their blessings in the form of their beloved children and greater family life.  Those who are not ready to be mothers yet look forward perhaps, to the day when they too, will have their families gathered around them for this special occasion. To the many whose mothers have already passed over, this day brings memories of happy times  shared, coupled with a  sense of sadness and grief.

Those who are separated from their children due to distance or loss also  find this a sad day; as do the women who long to be mothers but through circumstance have  not been able to bring children into their lives. 

Spiritually for me,  Mothers’ Day  is a celebration of the feminine essence – the Goddess energy – that we, as women,  all carry, whether we are mothers or not. On this day especially, let us acknowledge that essence  in all our female friends and relatives –  our mothers, our daughters, our sisters,  our friends.  For we are all ONE .

So to you, my dear ones, I send you the blessing of the Goddess.

April Fool Moon

Hello and Welcome Everyone,

 The full moon is shining brightly through the window as I type this to you all.

 As is usual for me at Full Moon, I find myself up in the wee small hours – the strong vibration of the Moon usually wakes me.

 The time of Full Moon is the high tide of psychic powers and abilities, with many of us experiencing perceptions and divinations that are very powerful.  Dreams will be intense experiences at this time and any creativity will be enhanced so the full moon is an ideal time for creatively manifesting things and situations in your life. The amplified energy of the moon in this phase of its cycle lends more power and magic to the things we ordain. Abundance is all around at this time too.

 Nature too, reflects this abundance and there is more growth and vitality at this time.This surge of energy from the full moon that many of us feel, gives us the opportunity to put into action new projects or ideas that may have been formulating. They will come to fruition with greater speed and ease if begun now.

On a spiritual level this can be a powerful time to release, cast out or unburden yourself by stepping out of an old way of being or thinking, or letting go of an attitude that no longer holds true or even a relationship that is no longer in alignment with who you are.

The full moon is also useful in practical ways too. For those of you who wish to grow your hair quickly, getting a little trimmed off the ends during a full moon will ensure that it grows faster. Conversely – if you do not want to visit your hairdresser as often then avoid full moon haircuts!

As I tune into the awesome energy of the moon I send you all abundant wishes and blessings for this month of April.

The month of March heralds the official beginning of autumn for the southern hemisphere and spring for the northern. This change of season brings with it a shift in energy and many of you may be feeling a little out of kilter at this time. This year, in particular, there has been an added shift due to the devastating earthquake in Chile and the subsequent tsunami warnings that precluded high waves and tides all at the time of the full moon. Our hearts and thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones and who are struggling to survive amidst the upheaval.

According to scientific reports the Chilean earthquake has shifted the earth’s axis minutely, thereby causing a change in the time it takes the earth to orbit the sun. This has a knock-on effect of shortening the day by a fraction of a second. Energetically, this could mean that all sentient beings on the planet are physically undergoing a shift in their bodies too. Our mental and emotional bodies are also affected by this shift, as evidenced by emotionally charged confrontations and mentally fraught situations, not only in Chile, but also all over the planet.

You may well be feeling the global effects of this shift in your personal life – perhaps those around you are more intense, unsettled or downright aggressive. On a physical level an earthquake brings deeply buried layers of the earth to the surface and the light of day. Reflecting this, emotional and mental issues from the past, which may well be rearing their head right now, afford us the opportunity to clear old patterns and resentments that have long been buried.

I encourage you to take time to deal with the “stuff” that comes up for yourself or those around you. In doing so, you will clear the ground for new growth and create opportunities to establish a firm foundation for the future.

Please be gentle with yourself right now, rest when you feel the need and nurture yourself with lots of water, good food and clean air whenever possible.

"Your Home is Your Castle"

Hello Everyone,

Well February has already shown itself to be a month full of real estate transactions. Many of my clients and friends are selling, buying, or both.

The Sydney ”Un”- Real Estate Market has surged back again after the financial downturn and my energy clearing work has been non-stop as a result.

 One of the major factors I have found to be a stumbling block for a house sale is not necessarily the house itself but the occupants – both present and previous. Often there is someone either currently living in the house, or an owner who once lived there and has passed over, who is “hanging on “ to the property.

As vendors, we can assist the sale of our home by getting all occupants to agree on the sale prior to listing and joining together in thanking the home for the shelter, nurturing and happy times we have enjoyed within it. Then, either all the occupants or one person, may stand in the centre of the house, or the Chi energy spot (the hearth of the home) and lovingly release it to the Universe for the perfect new custodians at the perfect moment and perfect price.

Many times there are “old” custodians who do not want new people in their house so they can resist all attempts to purchase or sell a home that is, in effect, “haunted”. Unless you have spiritual vision and are skilled in this work I do suggest you seek expert assistance for this type of Spiritual House clearing. It is surprising just how quickly a home will sell once the old energies are assisted in releasing the home. Negative attachments that have wandered in on tenants or visitors can also affect a sale so do be aware that the room you do not like to relax in may have a negative energy or entity within. The good news is that this can be fixed.

So getting the agent and the stylist and the marketing and the cleanliness right is vital for a sale – but the spiritual cleanliness can make or break the deal.
